Major contents of the meeting:
Jianhua Liu, the division chief of International Exchange & Cooperation Department of Zhengzhou University, expressed warm welcome to the faculties from University of Wisconsin Whitewater. Zhengzhou University adheres to the educational concept of internationalization and the student-oriented. In order to improve the quality of education, the University seeks the development through innovation with the sound administrative system. Under the corporation between Zhengzhou University and the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, we can make full use of the qualified education resources and complementary advantages from both sides to achieve the win-win corporation with jointly efforts.
Candace Chenoweth is the director of International Exchange & Cooperation Department, University of Wisconsin Whitewater. She briefly introduced educational concepts as well as the basic information about the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, such as the qualified faculties and the great learning environment, etc. She also gave many constructive suggestions to students of Zhengzhou University who is going to study there in the future. The faculties from both Universities conducted in-depth communications and discussions on exchange programs and reached initial consensus.
The following suggestions were proposed by Jianhua Liu:
1)Zhengzhou University hopes to conduct more short-term exchange programs in the future, therefore the Chinese students could acknowledge more learning environments as well as the educational system of the Whitewater;
2)Whitewater could assign financial professors to teach lessons in the Zhengzhou University. It would be a significance way to spread the American teaching ideas and methods by teaching the American lessons directly to the Chinese students;
3)The consensus about the scholarship has been achieved;
4)The reciprocal visits of the principals will benefit the future cooperation;
Dean of International College of Zhenzhou University, Maosheng Shi emphasized the supports on the China-US educational cooperation. He suggests that the two Universities could increase the educational cooperation on the reciprocal visits and exchanges of teachers and students:
1、After signing the cooperation agreement in 2015, the China-US International Financial class was officially set up at International College of Zhenzhou University. At present, we are actively recruiting students who eager to go abroad and study in the United States;
2、The American Chinese professors who is assigned by Whitewater can be accepted;
3、For the students who could participate in the short-term exchange programs, Zhengzhou University will provide scholarships according to their GPA grades, ranging from 2000-20000 RMB.
The faculties also discussed the upcoming 1+1 exchange program on master degree. During this meeting, through the detailed introduction made by the faculties, the guests from Whitewater could have elaborate and deeper understanding about Zhenzhou University. At the end of the meeting, the faculties of two Universityies exchanged the commemorative souvenirs.
